ABOUT US
Students Helping Students® was created by Nataly Kogan and Avi Spivack, recent graduates of Wesleyan University.
After we graduated from college, we realized that some of the most valuable advice we’d ever gotten came from fellow students and recent grads who were able to share personal insights based on their actual experiences – and often, their mistakes. We began publishing the Students Helping Students® series of books and launched our companion website www.StudentsHelpingStudents.com as a way for successful college students and recent grads to share their wisdom with thousands of other students.
The Students Helping Students® series grew rapidly and in the summer of 2004 Perigee, an imprint of Penguin Putnam, bought the rights to it. After giving the books a much-needed refresher, including new covers and designs, Perigee re-launched the series in the spring of 2005. We're excited to be working with such a great publisher and look forward to creating more books for the series in the future.
A bit about us...
Nataly grew up in the former Soviet Union and moved to the US with her family at the age of 14. She majored in economics and political science at Wesleyan University, where she also spent a semester exploring Japan as part of a study abroad program. She graduated from Wesleyan with High and University Honors and prior to co-founding Students Helping Students® worked for several consulting and technology companies.
Avi grew up in Boston and attended the Boston Latin School before entering Wesleyan, where he was an English major with an unofficial film minor. After graduation, Avi went on to pursue his passion for publishing at Henry Holt, a New York publisher, and has since worked at several publishing and technology companies prior to co-founding Students Helping Students®.
